Tomato Clownfish – Anilao
This is a close-up, head-on shot of an anemonefish, also known as a clownfish, set against his home of green sea anemone tentacles. This species is known as a tomato clownfish. Its vibrant orange body. Subtle variations in the orange hue are visible, with a warm yellow undertone on its belly and face that deepens to a richer, more saturated orange on its flanks and fins. Two distinct vertical stripes, or bands, are present on the fish. The one near the front of its head is a thin, dark line, followed by a striking, bright turquoise blue stripe that edges the top of its head and extends down its body, bordered by a thin black line. Clownfish are very territorial and this one came out to rush the camera, hence the extreme close up. The image was taken off Anilao near Batangas Philippines.
